The phrase “meteoric growth” has never quite made sense to us here at Tradeshift. Although they move fast, meteors fall to earth with a bang – never a good sign in a metaphor! Instead, we feel Tradeshift is more like an international space station mission; launching into space piece by piece and building a stable foundation for years to come.
Now that’s a metaphor.
Anyway, the reason we bring it up is simple – no matter how you frame it, we’re growing fast and looking for the best talent out there to join us on our mission to (as Techcrunch puts it) “disrupt the entire financial system”.
But getting the right people on board doesn’t just mean being one of the brightest talents out there, it means being the right kind of person – a Tradeshift kind of person.
So here are top five indicators that will help you work out whether you’ve got what it takes to be a Tradeshifter. (And if you really are the proactive type, then you could just click here to see what positions we’re hiring right now!)
1. You’re proactive
So you didn’t click the link before the break? No? That’s okay, because we believe in second chances too (and it’s still not too late).
But if you want to make it at Tradeshift then, like us, you have to be the kind of person who’s going to go out there and move the goalposts. We’re all pushing in the same direction and it’s one that can change the world. But only if we’re all pushing each other to get there too.
2. You’re a Foosball champion
Some of our best ideas have come while engaged in epic struggles on the Foosball pitch. A little healthy competition never hurt anyone and there’s no better team bonding experience than a well-earned goal achieved by you and the player at your side.
3. You like champagne, beer or Coca-Cola and lots of coffee
Winning can be dehydrating – therefore we always keep a healthy stock of champagne, beer, Coke and coffee to ensure that our team are fighting fit and ready to move onto the next goal (Foosball or otherwise).
4. You dress to kill
Wear shorts, wear trainers – whatever makes you comfortable – so you can achieve what you need to that day. Bonus points for Foosball teams that wear matching uniforms.
5. You’re part of the team
We eat lunch together, we Yammer together, we work together, we play together – we communicate, we debate, we share our victories and we do whatever it takes to accomplish them. Together, we’re greater than the sum of our parts. Together, we make shift happen.
