Sometimes you get very clear indicators that you’re moving in the right direction. For instance, last year we were nominated for and delighted to win the 2010 Europa Award for Best Business Startup as judged by TechCrunch and its panel.

But where do you go from there, right?

Well, this year TechCrunch has helpfully opened the doors for us and created the “Europas Hero Award – Kicking Ass Globally from Europe”. We’re delighted to be in there with the likes of Huddle, SoundCloud and Rovio; all great brands that are taking on the world alongside us and demonstrating that Europe can really punch above its weight in the tech scene.

What’s more, our three founders, Christian, Mikkel and Gert, are nominated for “Best Startup Co-founders”. They’re certainly the best we have and I know our whole company is as proud of them for being nominated as they are delighted to have them leading us.

On top of that, Morten Lund, our Chairman, is up for “Best Angel or Seed Investor”. Morten continues to play a big part in what we do and his guidance and peerless industry-awareness continue to be as valuable today as when we started our relationship together.

Meanwhile, our latest partner, Kite Ventures, with whom we recently announced another round of funding, is also nominated in this year’s Europas for “Best VC of the Year”. If that wasn’t enough, Jos White, from Notion Capital is up for ‘Best VC Partner of the Year’

One thing’s for sure, we’re in good company here at Tradeshift! It has been a fantastic year of hard work, great ambitions and big plans since last year’s win, but we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Tradeshift, all our partners and customers for getting us to where we are today.

Other than that, there’s nothing else to say except that, if you like what we do, then we’d love for you to head over to the Europas site and place your votes!
