En 2005, les entrepreneurs Christian, Mikkel et Gert avaient une vision: connecter toutes les entreprises du monde. Ainsi, lorsque l’agence nationale danoise des technologies de l’information et des télécommunications leur a demandé de créer un réseau de facturation électronique, ils ont vu une opportunité de créer quelque chose de plus grand.
EasyTrade est créée, la première plateforme d’échanges commerciaux open-source* au monde. Ont-ils transgressé les règles et forcé l’admiration au passage ? Et comment !
Le trio se remet ensuite au travail, cette fois pour donner forme à leur vision, une plateforme d’échange mondiale et pas seulement européenne. Une plateforme qui transformerait la manière dont les entreprises travaillent ensemble. Passer d’incomplet à efficace ; de compliqué à simple ; d’archaïque à moderne.
C'est ainsi que Tradeshift voit le jour.

Tradeshift s’est développé et emploie désormais plus de 800 personnes avec des bureaux dans 13 pays mais notre objectif n’a pas changé. Selon nous, rien ne rassemble un monde fragmenté aussi bien que le commerce. Nous numérisons et connectons tous les éléments associant un acheteur et un fournisseur, partout dans le monde.

James Stirk
Interim CEO
James is Tradeshift’s Chief Revenue Officer promoted to the global role based on his track record of driving growth across Tradeshift’s EMEA region. James is an accomplished leader with 25+ years of experience building strategy, sales growth and business development for established Multinationals (Fortune 500) and smaller (PE backed) organizations across finance, ERP, business intelligence and cyber. He is responsible for scaling revenue across Tradeshift’s commercial & customer facing business units and refining our go-to-market strategy driving expansion across global markets. Previously, James held senior leadership positions with Financialforce, McAfee and Oracle. He is based in the United Kingdom.
Iain Balchin
Chief Financial Officer
Iain is Tradeshift’s CFO, responsible for oversight of the group’s financial activities and governance.
Iain has over 25 years experience working in senior finance positions including numerous listed PLCs and several of Europe’s largest PE backed fintech unicorns. He has considerable experience in debt restructuring, equity fund raising, M&A and IPO processes.
Iain is also an alumnus of the Deloitte Future FTSE 100 CFO Program and NED/Trustee and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee for Age UK.

Gert Sylvest
Co-Founder, SVP & Interim Head of Product
Gert Sylvest is one of Tradeshift’s Co-Founder and SVP & Interim of Product. He has extensive experience with digital, cloud based procure-to-pay and financing, large-scale public-to-private P2P infrastructures, cross-regional cloud deployments, blockchain and interoperability. Previously, he was responsible for the technical design and implementation of the Danish (Easytrade/Nemhandel) and European (PEPPOL) peer-to-peer-based source-to-pay digital infrastructures, with Accenture and Avanade. Gert holds a MSc in Information Technology and Music, specializing in real-time distributed collaboration systems. He is based in Denmark.
Rolf Njor Jensen
SVP, Engineering
Rolf is Tradeshift’s SVP of Engineering and most recently has assumed the role of General Manager of the Payment Automation Business Unit. He is a founding Tradeshift Employee participating in the development of the initial Tradeshift product. Rolf has leadership responsibility for the engineering and platform teams of 200+ employees. He has a Master of Computing Science degree from Aalborg University, Denmark and is based in the United States.
Dan Russi
SVP, Seller Buyer Success
Dan is Tradeshift’s SVP of Seller Buyer Success. He brings over 30 years experience in leading operational excellence across customer operations, corporate IT, and cloud IT. His previous roles include executive positions with start-ups, growth stage companies, and large multinational organizations including the University of California, SAP Ariba, Saba, Adobe, and Cummins. Dan holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Rochester – Simon Business School and is based in the United States.
Jovita O’Byrne

Jovita is an experienced leader and Human Resources professional providing Strategic and Operational HR Business Partnering to businesses. She’s passionate about helping people move forward through discovering and growing their strengths. Based in Ireland, Jovita has 25+ years in executive and senior HR roles in a wide variety of industries, multinational & indigenous, large and small businesses with a proven track record of being highly effective; coaching leaders with uncompromising quality and total integrity.
Jim Modak
SVP Chief of Strategy & GTM
Jim’s career spans more than 40 years and includes significant financial and operational experiences. Jim has raised more than $1.2 billion in equity capital in both private & public transactions and has experience in M&A with over 50 acquisitions on the buy side and 5 on the sell side, including the sale of Tradex Technologies, a B2B marketplace to Ariba for nearly $6 billion. Jim has served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of several software technology companies during his career. He has extensive operational expertise in scaling and optimizing companies in particular in pricing strategies, product & customer profitability and joint ventures. Jim has a Business Studies degree from the University of Notre Dame and is based on Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
