The Exploration of International Standards for E-Documents
An organization’s ability to transact, connect and collaborate with a supply chain network of business relationships is increased each time it follows a standard. Therefore, it is not surprising that standards have become central to business strategy and technology decisions. This paper details the characteristics of highly adopted and successful standards, and makes the business case for an e-document standard based on specifications developed by the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) project.
