Analytics China: Localized Reporting & Analytics for Our Customers in China

Published on: October 23rd, 2026

We have brought the Reporting & Analytics App to buyers on the Tradeshift China platform, with six ready-made reports, data that stays in China, and the same product our customers use around the world.

Good reporting should not depend on where a company is based. A finance team in Shanghai has the same questions as one in London or Chicago: how many invoices came in this month, where approvals are getting stuck, which suppliers are connected and active, and how much of the work still needs a person. What changes from one country to the next is the setting around those questions: where the data is allowed to live, which cloud services are available, and how the platform has to be built to respect both.

China is one of the markets where that setting matters most, and it is also home to a significant part of our customer base. Many of the companies that run their procure-to-pay processes on Tradeshift do so in China, on the dedicated Tradeshift China platform. We wanted those customers to have the same reporting experience as everyone else, built for the way they need to work locally. That is what Analytics China delivers.

One app for reporting, now in China too

Since its launch in June 2025, the Reporting & Analytics App has become the single home for reporting on Tradeshift. It gives buyers and sellers ready-made dashboards and reports on their documents, suppliers, users and workflows, returns results on large volumes of data in under three seconds, and only shows each user what their role allows. On October 1, 2026, it fully replaced our previous reporting tool. You can read more about where the app is today in our Fall Release ’26 AI overview.

Analytics China brings that same experience to buyers on the Tradeshift China platform. It runs on the same technology as the global app, Amazon Quick Suite (formerly Amazon QuickSight), and opens from the same place in a Tradeshift account, so users who already know the app will find their way around immediately.

What buyers in China can see

Analytics China starts with six ready-made reports, each built around a question AP and finance teams ask every week. Most come with both a visual dashboard for a quick overview and a detailed report for drilling into the data.

  • Documents, header level: every invoice and document, with its status, processing time and where it currently sits
  • Documents, line level: the detail behind each line, to spot trends and catch discrepancies early
  • Scanning: how many paper and PDF invoices are digitized, and how that volume develops over time
  • Network connections: which suppliers are connected and how those connections are performing
  • User activity: who on the team is active and which parts of the platform they use
  • Workflow and approvals: how long approvals take and where invoices are waiting

Every report can be filtered, drilled into and exported, and the data is refreshed every day, so teams start each morning with yesterday’s activity already included.

What this means for AP and finance teams in China:

  • Answers without spreadsheets: the numbers teams used to piece together from exports are ready to use in one place
  • Faster month-end: bottlenecks in approvals and processing are visible before they delay the close
  • Better supplier conversations: connection and document data gives teams the facts they need when talking to suppliers
  • One view across the team: managers see how work is distributed and where extra support is needed

Built in China, for China

Making the app available in China was not a matter of switching it on. China has its own cloud environment, separate from the rest of the world, with its own regions, its own set of available services and its own expectations around where business data is stored and processed.

We built Analytics China entirely inside that environment. The reporting service runs in Amazon’s Beijing region, and the data behind it is stored and prepared in Amazon’s Ningxia region, so customer data stays within mainland China from the moment it is processed to the moment it appears on screen. For companies that need their financial data to remain in the country, this is a very important requisite.

Localization also meant adapting the experience where the local cloud works differently. Some features of the global app are not offered in the China region, so we redesigned around them rather than leave gaps. Geographic map charts, for example, are replaced with clear ranked bar charts that show the same information. The aim was simple: no report should lose information because of where it runs.

The same standards for security and access

Analytics China applies the same security model as the global app. Each customer only ever sees its own data: access is enforced at the level of every row, so a report can never show another company’s documents. Inside each company, users see what their existing Tradeshift role allows, with no separate permissions to manage. Sign-in is handled through a central identity service, and new users are set up automatically when they first open the app.

Before going live, we tested these controls against real usage, confirming that a customer’s dashboards and exported reports contained only that customer’s records.

One product, kept in step across regions

Running a product in two separate cloud environments brings a familiar risk: over time, the two versions drift apart, and the smaller one falls behind. We designed Analytics China to avoid that. The China version is generated automatically from the global one, so when we improve a report or a dataset for our global customers, the same change can be carried over to China in a consistent, tested way, adapted where the local environment requires it.

For customers in China, this means they benefit from the same product investment as everyone else on the network, rather than waiting for a separate local roadmap to catch up.

Why it matters for global companies:

  • Consistent reporting across regions: teams in China and elsewhere work with the same reports and the same definitions
  • Local data, global standards: data stays in China while security, permissions and quality match the rest of the platform
  • No extra setup: the app opens from the existing Tradeshift account, with the permissions already in place

What comes next

Analytics China reflects how we approach every market we serve: start from what local customers need, respect local rules on data, and give them the same quality of insight as anyone else on Tradeshift. We will keep extending the reports available in China as the product grows globally and as the services available in the region develop.
